Major changes have been made in History, Economics, Business Studies, Computer Science, and Physical Education. Some topics have been deleted, and some new ones have been added. It is essential to check the updated syllabus for proper preparation.

CUET UG 2026 Exam Date and Schedule

NTA will conduct the CUET UG 2026 exam in May 2026. The expected date is around 15 May 2026. The exam will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

This year NTA has released the notification early. They want to give students enough time to prepare well. The official portal has been updated with all programme details and revised syllabus.

CUET UG 2026 Syllabus: Major Changes Announced

NTA has revised the CUET UG 2026 syllabus for several subjects. These changes align CUET with updated academic learning. Here's what changed in each subject.

Economics Syllabus Changes

A major addition has been made to Economics. "Indian Economic Development" is now part of the syllabus.

Added Unit I: Development Policies and Experience (1947-90) - Indian economy on the eve of Independence, Economic system and objectives of Five Year Plans, Agriculture: institutional aspects and new agricultural strategy, Industry: IPR 1956, SSI role and importance, Foreign trade
Added Unit II: Economic Reforms since 1991 - Macroeconomics meaning, LPG reforms features and appraisal
Added Unit III: Current Challenges Facing Indian Economy - Human Capital Formation and education sector, Rural development, cooperatives, organic farming, Employment: workforce trends and policies, Environment and Sustainable Development
Added Unit IV: Development Experience of India Comparison with Neighbours - Economic growth, population, sectoral development, Human Development Indicators, Development strategies

Business Studies Syllabus Changes

Business Studies has seen significant changes. One unit removed and one new unit added.

Added Unit X: Financial Markets - Concept of financial market, Money market concept and instruments, Capital market (primary and secondary), Stock exchange functions and trading, Depository services and demat account, SEBI objectives and functions
Deleted Unit IX: Business Finance - Meaning, role and objectives of financial management, Financial planning, Capital structure, Fixed and working capital
Deleted Unit XII: Entrepreneurship Development - Concept, functions and need, Characteristics and competencies, Entrepreneurship development process, Values, attitudes and motivation

Mathematics Syllabus Changes

Mathematics syllabus has minor but important changes.

Deleted Random Variables (from Probability chapter)

History Syllabus Changes

History syllabus has been reorganised. Some themes have been renamed and restructured.

Computer Science Syllabus Changes

A new unit has been added to Computer Science syllabus.

Students should choose CUET subjects based on their Class 12th stream. Here's the recommended subject mapping.

All Central Universities Participating in CUET 2026

There were rumours about some universities not participating in CUET 2026. NTA has clarified that all Central Universities will participate.

Delhi University, BHU, JNU, and all other Central Universities will accept CUET scores. Students don't need to worry about university participation. Check the official website regularly for the updated list.

CUET UG 2026 Application Form

The online application form for CUET UG 2026 is expected to release soon. It may come by mid-January or the last week of January 2026.

NTA is releasing forms early this year. This gives students more time to fill the form correctly. Rushed applications often get rejected due to mistakes.

Important Advisory: Update Your Aadhaar Card

NTA has issued an important advisory about Aadhaar card details. Students must update their Aadhaar information before filling the application form.

Your Aadhaar card details should match your Class 10th marksheet. Any mismatch in name, date of birth, or other details can cause problems. The application uses Aadhaar-based authentication.

If there's a discrepancy, your application may face issues. Update your Aadhaar now to avoid last-minute rush. Also update any quota-related certificates if needed.
