This year the board examinations haven’t been conducted due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Hence the GSHSEB has to do the mass promotion to the students studying in Gujarat State Board Class 10th. A report revealed that this year approx 32% of 8.57 lakh students in class 10th have been given the mass promotion, in which 2.75 lakh students have received the over marks then usual grace marking.
According to the sources the government is looking forward to analysing the given marks or results to understand how fairly the results have been prepared by the schools. Because it was prepared on the basis of internal unit assessment of class 9th and 10th.
A senior official of GSHSEB said “Since there was no check on the internal unit tests of Class 9 and 10 as well as grace marks to be awarded to a student to promote them under the mass promotion, it is suspected that schools have blatantly awarded marks to their students,”
However In 2020, 4,974 students secured A1 (between 91 and 100 marks) grade, while in 2019, 1,671 students got it. But this year 17,186 students were awarded the A1 Grade. Therefore the board or government has doubts over the marks manipulation by the schools.
It is noted that the GSEB Class 10th Result 2021 was released on June 29.
