IIT Roorkee has officially announced the exam date for JEE Advanced 2026. According to the notice released, the exam will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
This time, IIT Roorkee has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the JEE Advanced 2026 examination.

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Timing and Schedule
The JEE Advanced 2026 exam will be conducted in two compulsory papers in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode at various examination centers across the country. The exam will be completed in two shifts.
- Paper 1: From 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Paper 2: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
The total duration of the JEE Advanced 2026 exam is 6 hours, with each paper lasting 3 hours, and it is mandatory for candidates to appear in both papers.
JEE Advanced 2026: Number of Seats Available
Through the JEE Advanced exam, admission is offered to approximately 18,160 seats (based on last year's data) in the 23 IITs across the country. This exam is considered one of the toughest competitive exams in the world.
JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To appear in JEE Advanced 2026, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
- Candidates must appear in JEE Main 2026.
- Candidates must secure a rank within the top 2.5 lakh in JEE Main.
JEE Main 2026 Dates Already Announced
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already released the dates for JEE Main 2026:
- Session 1: January 21 to January 30, 2026
- Session 2: April 1 to April 10, 2026
JEE Advanced 2026 Registration Timeline
The registration process for JEE Advanced 2026 is likely to begin after the JEE Main results are declared, i.e., in the third week of April 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly check the jeeadv.ac.in website for updates.
Last Year's IIT Cutoff
Last year, in JEE Advanced 2025, there was a slight relaxation in the cutoff marks for admission to the IITs. To be included in the Common Rank List (CRL) 2025, candidates were required to score a minimum of 5.83 percent in each subject and an overall aggregate of 20.56 percent.
