Guidelines for JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Day
You must be aware of these rules before entering the examination center.
- Follow the invigilator's instructions. Comply with whatever the invigilator says. These instructions are intended to assist you, not to inconvenience you.
- Cooperate during the identity verification process. Your identity will be verified by the invigilator and representatives from IIT. Failure to do so may result in your expulsion from the examination center.
- Log in carefully. Your name, photograph, and Roll Number will be displayed on the computer assigned to you. Verify all details before proceeding. You will be allotted 20 minutes prior to the commencement of the examination to log in and read the instructions. Your Login ID is your JEE Advanced 2026 Roll Number, and your password is your Date of Birth.
- Submit your Admit Card. You are required to hand over your printed Admit Card to the invigilator. Upon completion of the identity verification, the officials will return your original Admit Card to you.
- Provide your fingerprints. Prior to the examination, you must provide a fingerprint impression of your index finger. This same fingerprint will also be utilized during the JEE Advanced 2026 counseling process.
- Use the scribble pad for rough work. All rough work must be performed exclusively on the scribble pad provided at the examination center. Any content written on it will not be considered for evaluation purposes.
- Do not leave the examination hall early. You are not permitted to exit the hall before 12:00 PM for Paper 1, or before 5:00 PM for Paper 2.
- Appearing for both papers is mandatory. Do not leave the examination center after completing Paper 1. If you fail to appear for Paper 2, you will be marked as absent, and your Paper 1 will not be evaluated either. Only those candidates who appear for both papers will be considered for ranking.
- Do not attempt the examination on behalf of another candidate. If a candidate is caught attempting the examination in place of another candidate, they will be immediately disqualified.
JEE Advanced 2026 Dress Code
The dress code isn't optional. If you don't follow it, you'll face extra screening or even denied entry. Here's what IIT Roorkee expects:
- Wear light-coloured, half-sleeved clothes. Think cotton t-shirts, shirts, or kurtas.
- Avoid anything with fancy designs, heavy patterns, or big logos.
- Girls should wear simple kurtas with jeans, plazzos, or leggings. Dupattas aren't allowed.
- Shoes are banned inside the exam hall. Wear chappals, sandals, or floaters instead.
- Don't wear any jewellery — no bracelets, earrings, rings, necklaces, or nose pins.
- Belts and wristwatches aren't allowed either.
- Skip the fancy hair clips and bands. Keep it simple and neat.
