What Can You Actually Change?
NTA has been pretty specific about what's editable and what's locked. Here's the breakdown:
Fields You Cannot Touch
Some things are set in stone once you've submitted:
- Mobile number
- Email address
- Permanent and present address
- Emergency contact information
- Your uploaded photograph
One-Time Change Options
You get to change only one of these:
- Your name
- Father's name
- Mother's name
So choose wisely if you need to correct any of these.
Fully Editable Fields
These details can be freely updated:
- Class 10th and 12th information
- State code of eligibility
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Category and sub-category (PwD status, if not already verified through UDID Portal)
- Signature image
Exam Preferences
You can also modify:
- Examination city choices (based on your permanent and present addresses)
- Medium of examination
Just keep in mind that NTA isn't obligated to give you your preferred city—they'll do their best, but no guarantees.
Additional Options
- Adding a paper: If you want to appear for an additional paper, now's your chance
- Aadhaar details: Only available for candidates who initially registered with a different ID
Don't Miss the Deadline
The correction window closes at 11:50 PM on December 2, 2025. That gives you roughly two days to review your application and make necessary updates.
Log in today, go through every detail carefully, and submit your corrections well before the last minute. Server traffic tends to spike close to deadlines, and you don't want technical glitches ruining your chances.
Best of luck with your JEE Main 2026 preparation!
