For students in West Bengal who were scheduled to take the JEE Main exam on January 23rd – your exam date has been changed.
The NTA announced this a few hours ago on X (formerly Twitter). The reason? Saraswati Puja is on January 23rd, and students in the state were requesting a different date.

❓⏳Why the Postponement?
In West Bengal, Saraswati Puja is a major festival. On this day, students worship the goddess of knowledge and learning. The fact that an exam was scheduled on the same day did not sit well with many candidates.
Many students contacted the NTA and requested a change of date. The agency listened to their concerns and decided to reschedule the exam for all candidates from West Bengal who were scheduled to take it on that date.

🔄📢What Happens Now?
If your JEE Main exam was scheduled for January 23rd and your exam center is in West Bengal, you will receive a new date. The NTA has stated that the revised date will be within the existing schedule for Session 1 – that is, between January 21st and 29th.
The updated schedule for the affected candidates will be uploaded soon on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Please keep checking the website.
