JEE Main 2026 Session 2 is done, and now the focus shifts to what comes next. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has shared the complete post-exam timeline. The provisional answer key will be released on April 11, 2026, and the result is expected on April 20, 2026.

The question papers will be released on April 9, followed by the provisional answer key and objection window opening on April 11, 2026. Candidates can review their recorded responses and raise objections on jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The final result is expected on April 20, 2026, along with rankings for engineering admissions and JEE Advanced qualification. Over 11.23 lakh candidates appeared across 566 centres in India and abroad. The final score will be the best of both sessions. JEE Advanced 2026 is scheduled for May 17, 2026.

How Many Students Appeared?

NTA confirmed that 11.23 lakh candidates appeared for the exam across 566 centres in 304 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Here's a quick breakdown:

JEE Main Session 2 Answer Key and Response Sheet

The Provisional Answer Key, along with the recorded responses of candidates, will be released on 11 April 2026. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections against the answer key by paying a processing fee of ₹200 per question within the given time window.

This step is important because it ensures transparency and gives candidates a fair opportunity to challenge discrepancies.

What Happens After the Answer Key Is Released?

Once the provisional answer key is out on April 11, you can:

  • Access your recorded responses on the official website
  • Compare your answers with the provisional key
  • Raise objections if you spot any discrepancies

After evaluating all objections, the NTA will publish the final answer key, which will subsequently be used to calculate the results.

JEE Main Session 2 Result — April 20

The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 result is tentatively scheduled for April 20, 2026. Along with the result, NTA will also release the final rankings, which will determine:

  • Eligibility for undergraduate engineering admissions
  • Qualification for JEE Advanced 2026

Your final JEE Main score will be the best of the two sessions, with normalised scores taken into consideration.
