JNVST Class 6 admission 2026: Today, 27 August is the last date to apply for admission in class 6 in the session 2026-27 in the Navodaya Vidyalayas of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

Interested students can register for free by visiting navodaya.gov.in. Students will get admission in the same Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya which will be available in their district. Students will also have to submit a residence certificate to fill the admission form.

According to reports, about 2.37 lakh applications have been received so far for 4880 seats in Navodaya schools. That is, there are 48 contenders for one seat. The competition is tough. The entrance exam will be held on December 13.

Who can apply for JNVST?

The date of birth of the student applying should be between 1 May 2014 to 31 July 2016. To get admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6, the student must have studied class 5 from a government school or government aided school or a recognized school.

75 percent of the seats in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are reserved for children coming from rural areas. Admission on the remaining 25 percent seats will be given to children from both urban and rural areas on the basis of merit. The student will get only one chance to appear for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Entrance Exam.

When will the exam be held?

The Class 6 admission exam for JNVST 2026-27 session will be held in two phases. The first phase will be held on 13 December 2025 at 11:30 am and the second phase will be held on 11 April 2026 at 11:30 am.

How to apply for JNVST?

The application process for NVS Class 6 has been kept very simple. The candidate has to first visit the navodaya.gov.in website and click on the link for Class 6 Admission 2026-27. After this, the form has to be filled in which the student's personal information, school related details and documents have to be uploaded.
