JoSAA 2023 : JoSAA Counselling Seat Allotment Process & Seat Matrix

After two mock allocations, the JoSAA Seat Allotment process has reached its final stage. The registered candidates will be allocated seats based on their performance in the qualifying examination (JEE Main or JEE Advanced) and the choices they filled during registration. To view the seat allotment result, candidates need to log into their accounts using their application number and password.

Upon receiving the provisional allotment letter, candidates must download it and pay the seat acceptance fee. The fee amounts to Rs. 35,000 for general category candidates and Rs. 15,000 for SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, or ST-PwD categories. Once the fee is paid, candidates are required to report to the designated reporting center (RC) for document verification.

If a candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, they have the following options:

  1. Floating: This option is for candidates who wish to accept the offered seat but also want to explore the possibility of obtaining a seat in a better or higher-preferred college or course.
  2. Freezing: Candidates exercising this option indicate their acceptance of the allotted seat and choose not to participate in further rounds.
  3. Sliding: If candidates choose this option, they accept the allotted seat but can opt for an upgrade if a better course becomes available in the same institute.

Finally, all candidates must report to their allotted colleges to confirm their admission by paying the remaining academic fees.
