In a recent development, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has released important information regarding the admission process for IITs and NITs through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling. On Sunday, the institute notified the cut-off marks for the top 20% of students obtained from various educational boards.
Currently, there are nine educational boards that are yet to submit the details of their top percentage marks, along with other boards. The cut-off marks for the top 20% have witnessed a decline for most of the boards this year as compared to the previous year. Out of the total 23 boards, two boards, namely the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) and the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, have not yet provided the cut-off marks for the NIT+ system. It is worth mentioning that 14 educational boards have reported a decrease in the top 20 percentile marks.
On a positive note, students belonging to the top 20 percentile from 48 boards will be considered for admission to IITs. The latest cut-off marks received from the major boards indicate that nine educational boards are yet to announce the marks achieved by the top 20 percentile of students for both IITs and NIT+.
This update from IIT Guwahati regarding the cut-off marks for admission to IITs and NITs through JoSAA counseling provides crucial information to students and educational boards alike. It highlights the decline in cut-off marks for most boards and emphasizes the importance of submitting the required details to ensure a fair and transparent admission process.
