Karnataka Introduces AI Training for Students From Class 6: Check Key Details
D K Shivakumar, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, has instructed the officers to look into the possibility of incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) training for government school children starting from class 6th. It is believed that this program will be backed by the IT department and even the private sector.
The instructions were given in the review meeting related to the 100 days program of the government.
AI Training for Karnataka School Students from Class 6
The training in AI for Class 9 students has already been initiated in Karnataka government schools. Officials have been requested to look into the possibility of providing AI training to students in Classes 6.
As per the office of the Chief Minister, Google has shown interest in conducting AI training at schools. The officials have also been asked to analyze Google's school initiatives in Telangana.
In addition to this, Shivakumar has ordered the officials to identify the land that can be used for establishing an AI university in Karnataka. Karnataka is also planning to hire 956 teachers through outsourced basis.
Karnataka Schools: Educational Visits for Class 9, 11 Students
While reviewing the School Education Department, the Chief Minister has instructed the officials to arrange field visits for Class 9 and Class 11 students of 941 urban schools to farms of progressive farmers.
Facilities will be arranged for staying overnight in the villages. This may consist of community centers and hostels. This program will be run for the private schools as well, and the government has instructed to complete it before December.
Karnataka Public Schools: 1,000 KPS Schools to Be Developed
Additionally, the Karnataka government is also engaged in the development of 1,000 Karnataka Public Schools (KPS).
This process has been made simple due to the fact that now the project proposals and tender documents for KPS can be approved by the deputy commissioners.
The government has also decided to develop 100 KPS through CSR funds. As per the information obtained from the meeting, there are already companies interested in developing 60 such schools.
Karnataka Agriculture Department: 25 Lakh SMS Sent to Farmers
While reviewing the work of the Agriculture Department, Shivakumar stated that 25 lakhs of SMSes were sent to the farmers through the CM Raitha Chaitanya Agritech Mission.
The officials have also been told to send video messages in an easy-to-understand language explaining the main features of the scheme.
