Maharashtra's common entrance test registration fees are set to increase soon. The State CET Cell has proposed a fee revision for all major higher education entrance exams. The proposal is currently pending approval from the higher and technical education department.
The proposed hike ranges from Rs 150 to Rs 250 depending on the exam type. Currently, candidates pay between Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 based on whether the test is paper-based or computer-based.

About Maharashtra CET Cell
The Maharashtra CET Cell conducts 19 entrance examinations for 72 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. These include engineering, pharmacy, nursing, hotel management, and teacher education courses.
Over 15 lakh candidates appeared for various CETs last year. Officials expect this number to cross 15 lakh in the 2026-27 cycle.
MHT-CET 2026-27 Exam Schedule Released
The CET Cell has announced the tentative exam calendar for 2026-27. The schedule covers technical, higher, agricultural, arts, and medical education streams. The exam cycle will begin earlier than usual with MP.Ed CET on March 24.
MHT-CET 2026 Two Attempts Introduced
In a major change, MHT-CET will now offer two attempts like JEE. This exam covers engineering, pharmacy, agriculture, architecture, and related professional courses.
