MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1 Allotment Out; Seat Acceptance Ends August 5
State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra declared the provisional MHT CET CAP Round 1 allotment result for engineering, MBA, and MMS courses on August 2, 2026.
Those candidates who had appeared for the Centralized Admission Process can verify their allotment status using the respective counseling portal, where they will require Application ID along with date of birth or password.

Those students who have been allotted a seat are required to follow the post-allotment procedure during August 3 and August 5, 2026, which include the acceptance of seat, submission of online declaration, payment of seat acceptance fee, and joining the allotted institute.
If candidates fail to do so, then there will be a possibility of losing their seat allocation.

How to Check MHT CET CAP Round 1 Allotment Status
Engineers aspirants can verify their provisional allotment from the official F.Y.E. counselling website.
On logging into the site, aspirants will have to choose the option “Check Provisional Allotment Status (CAP Round-I).” MBA & MMS aspirants can verify their allotment from the management counselling website. They will have to enter the login details to get their result.
The candidates should check their allotted institute, course, and branch before going ahead with the process of seat acceptance.
MHT CET CAP Round 1 Seat Acceptance Options
The seat acceptance process depends on the preference allotted to the candidate.
Candidates Allotted Their First Preference
Candidates with their first choice of seats will automatically have their seats frozen.
These candidates need to accept their assigned seats, pay for their seat acceptance online and go to their allocated institutes before the deadline.
These candidates won’t be eligible to join the other rounds of CAP.
Candidates Allotted Other Than Their First Preference
Candidates who have received preferences other than the first preference can either opt for Self-Freeze or Betterment.
If candidates choose Self-Freeze, then they are supposed to retain the present allotment and not take part in future CAP rounds.
Candidates choosing Betterment will be required to accept the present seat and also pay the fee for acceptance of the seat. They will qualify for a higher-preference seat in the next round of counselling.
Candidates Must Verify Application Details
Candidates are required to cross-check all the information provided during the application process. This includes qualifying exam scores, category, reservation, etc.
Any discrepancy found in the provided information must be conveyed by using the online grievance portal via the candidate login.

Competition Remains High for Engineering Seats
There were 1,32,838 applications made in the very first attempt of MHT CET. 1,16,196 candidates took part in the exam and consequently there was an attendance rate of 87.47 per cent.
Out of the candidates appearing in the examination, 1,12,601 candidates were from Maharashtra, whereas 3,595 candidates were in the Outside Maharashtra category.
The MHT CET was conducted in 181 centres spread across all 36 districts of Maharashtra state.
Closing ranks for institutes with the Round 1 allotment indicate stiff competition for popular engineering courses.
Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering continued to be among the most sought-after courses.
Prominent institutes like COEP Technological University and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute had closing ranks of about 860-960 or less for popular courses under the Open category.
What Happens After MHT CET CAP Round 1?
The MHT CET counselling process is set to be completed through four rounds of CAP conducted regularly.
Students opting for the Betterment option may be eligible to receive better-preference seats in the following round. Students opting for freezed seats need to complete admission procedures at their allotted institutes.
Once the CAP rounds have been concluded, the colleges involved will initiate institute level admissions for the remaining vacant seats.
