NVS Class 9 and 11 Admissions 2024: Lateral Entry Registration Commences, Application Process

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has initiated the registration process for admissions to class 9 and 11 for the academic year 2024-25, specifically for available seats. These admissions will be granted based on the results of the JNV Lateral Entry Selection Test, which is scheduled to take place on February 10, 2024, with the application deadline set for October 31.

In previous years, NVS exclusively conducted the Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) for vacant seats in Class 9. However, starting from 2023, NVS has extended the LEST to include admissions to Class 11. For detailed eligibility criteria and additional information, please refer to the following sections.

NVS Class 9 Registration 2024

Eligibility for JNV Class 11 Admissions 2023: Candidates seeking admission to Class 11 in JNV should have successfully passed their Class 10 examination from a recognized board, which includes the Central Board of Secondary Education, state boards, and other recognized boards. The eligibility criteria, as previously applied, require candidates to be between the ages of 15 and 17 years.

The merit list for NVS Class 11 admissions is determined by the marks obtained in the Class 10 board examinations and the availability of seats at the respective Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

Eligibility Criteria for JNV Class 9 LEST: For Class 9 admissions through LEST, only candidates who are bona fide residents and are currently enrolled in Class VIII during the Academic Session 2023-24 in a government or government-recognized school within the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located and where admission is sought are eligible. Additionally, candidates applying for admission to Class IX (session 2024-25) at a JNV in the same district should ensure that their district of residence matches the district of their Class VIII study.

Candidates who have already completed their Class VIII in previous academic sessions are not eligible for this admission process.
