With an aim to inspire youth towards innovation and self-employment, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has finalised the entrepreneurship curriculum for Class 12.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Thursday said the PSEB has finalised the curriculum for Class 12, completing a two-year educational pathway to promote innovation, self-reliance and employment generation among students.

The initiative builds on the success of the Business Blaster programme, which was launched for Class 11 students in 2022-23. Bains praised the board's efforts in making this happen.

He shared that PSEB has shown strong commitment by making entrepreneurship a compulsory subject in 3,692 senior secondary schools. The board has also trained 10,382 teachers and 231 master trainers through 104 training programmes.

According to an official statement, the Class 12 curriculum and textbooks are ready ahead of schedule. Around 5.60 lakh students will be able to study entrepreneurship without any break in the 2026-27 academic year.

Bains explained that the curriculum will teach students how to turn their ideas into real businesses. It covers topics like startup challenges, legal procedures, finance and budgeting. The goal is to prepare Punjab's youth to become job creators and contribute to the economy.

This initiative fulfils a key promise made by the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government. The aim is to give students in government and recognised schools the mindset and practical skills needed for self-employment and startups. This will help drive economic growth in the state, Bains added.
