Punjab Board Class 8th Results 2026 Out: 96.51 % Pass, Tehna Tops - Toppers Names & District List

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has officially announced the Class 8 results for the 2025-26 academic session. This year, 96.51% of students passed the exam — a slight drop from last year's 97.30%, but the overall performance remains strong across the state.

Out of 2,62,966 students who appeared for the exam, 2,53,789 cleared it successfully. Girls continued to outshine boys, with a pass percentage of 97.74%, while boys recorded 95.42%. All eight transgender candidates who appeared also passed, making it a 100% success rate for that category.

For comparison, in 2024-25, a total of 2,90,471 students had appeared, with 2,82,627 passing at a rate of 97.30%.

This year's star performer is Tehna, who scored a perfect 600 out of 600 — a flawless 100%. She's followed by Japji Kaur and Jasmeet Kaur, both of whom scored 598 out of 600 (99.67%), sharing the second rank.

Several districts crossed the 97% pass mark this year. Pathankot led the pack with a pass percentage of 98.90%, closely followed by Amritsar and Gurdaspur.
