The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducts the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) every year for students from Class 1 to Class 12 in schools across India.
This exam checks how well students understand maths and logical thinking. It helps them discover their interest in maths and improve their problem-solving skills through simple and clear learning.

Level 1:
All students from Classes 1 to 12 studying in a school recognized by SOF can take part in the Level 1 IMO exam. Students can only appear for the exam meant for their current class.
Level 2:
Only students from Classes 3 to 12 can appear for the Level 2 IMO exam. There’s no Level 2 exam for Classes 1 and 2. The top 5% of students from the Level 1 exam qualify for Level 2.

How to Participate?
Schools can apply for the exam 30 days before the test. Students can not apply individually.

Winners of the SOF IMP are eligible for a range of awards and scholarships. These include international, zonal and school topper awards. The top three international rank holders get cash awards, medals, and certificates, while zonal and school-level winners are also recognised.

Regional Rank Holders: Medal and Merit Certificate for outstanding performers in each region
School Toppers: Recognition for the highest scorers of each participating school

Registration Process for Schools
The SOF IMO follows a school-based registration process, so individual students cannot register on their own.
- Individual students cannot register directly for the exam
- Schools must submit applications at least 30 days before the exam date
- The school coordinator collects the registration fee from interested students
- Schools handle all administrative aspects of the registration process
- Schools receive and distribute exam materials to registered students
- Schools provide the exam venue and supervise the conduct of the exam
