WBJEE 2025 Result Update : Caste Certificate Upload Ends Today, New Merit List Tomorrow

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has fixed the last date for uploading caste certificate for SC, ST and OBC candidates as 21 August 2025 (till 11:59 pm). After this process, the board will release the new merit list of WBJEE 2025 on 22 August 2025.

The Calcutta High Court has ordered WBJEEB to prepare a new merit list under the old policy giving 7% reservation to 66 sub-categories of the OBC category. Earlier, contempt proceedings were also initiated against the board for not following the court order. Now as per the court's direction, all the reserved categories have been given a chance again.

SC, ST and OBC candidates have to upload their certificate by visiting wbjeeb.nic.in. Candidates have been given the facility to upload documents mentioning the name of their caste or tribe from August 18 to August 21. Only those candidates will be included in the new merit list who have uploaded the certificates on time and fulfilled the eligibility conditions.

WBJEE i.e. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a state level entrance exam. Through this exam, admission is given to engineering, architecture and pharmacy courses in government and private colleges of West Bengal. After the release of the new merit list, the counseling process of WBJEE 2025 will start.

The counseling process will include registration, choice filling and locking, seat allocation and college reporting. Seat allocation will be based on WBJEE score, candidate's choice and availability of seats. The exact date of counseling has not been announced yet, but it is likely that it will start by the end of August 2025. A total of three rounds of counseling will be conducted.

Only those candidates can participate in WBJEE 2025 counseling who have a valid WBJEE 2025 score or who have passed the entrance exam of the respective college. In such a situation, it is important for SC, ST and OBC candidates to upload their certificates before the last date of 21 August so that they can get the benefit of reservation and their name can be included in the new merit list.
