WBJEEB Announces WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling for Vacant Seats

WBJEEB has declared that the process of counselling for the WBJEE 2026 decentralized vacancies will be held online shortly.

This process of counselling will fill up the vacant seats after the completion of the candidate’s institute level reporting process. WBJEEB will notify about the registration dates, timetable, etc. on its official site at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee.

Is WBJEE Decentralised Counselling Similar to a Mop-up Round?

However, WBJEEB has not published all the guidelines for the decentralized counseling procedure so far.

Since the procedure will involve filling up seats that remain unclaimed after the normal counselling and reporting phase, it might turn out to be similar to mop-up counselling procedure.

The eligible candidates need to register themselves online in order to participate in the process. The guidelines pertaining to the eligibility criteria, choice filling, seat allocation and reporting will be announced in the schedule.

Instructions for Participating Institutes

Participating institutes and all other concerned have been requested to co-operate during the decentralized counselling process by WBJEEB.

The institutes should adhere to the directions, timelines, and guidelines provided by the Board. Directions will facilitate WBJEEB in conducting the admission process for vacant seats without any hassle. Further directions may also be given.

What is the WBJEE 2026 Seat Allotment Process?

During the WBJEE counselling, the seats are allotted according to the rank of the candidate in the WBJEE, options filled by him/her, and the available seats.

For a maximum of 10% seats of the approved seats in engineering and technology colleges on self-finance basis, candidates can be considered on the basis of JEE Main score as per the rules of admission.

The candidates, who get a seat allotted, need to pay the WBJEE Seat Acceptance Fee for 2026 through online process. The fee can be made through net banking, credit card or debit card.

The candidates will have to do the documentation and report at the allotted college within the allotted time period. Otherwise, the seat allotted might get canceled.

When will WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling Begin?

No official dates have been announced for the decentralized counseling process of WBJEE 2026.

The schedule will be released by the WBJEEB only after the completion of the reporting process at the institutes along with the confirmation of the available seats. The schedule will likely contain dates of registration, choice filling, seat allotment, fee payment, etc.
