Women's Development Cell
Established in 2023, Chandigarh University's Women Development Cell (WDC) operates in accordance with the criteria set forth by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Vishaka guidelines of the Supreme Court (1997). In order to provide a safe, welcoming, and courteous environment for both students and employees, the cell is dedicated to protecting the rights, dignity, and safety of all women on campus.
Banking Facilities
Students at Chandigarh University have access to the greatest banking services available. There are State Bank of India and HDFC Bank branches on campus that are completely computerised and air-conditioned to meet their financial needs. These branches are based on the CBS platform. The "on-campus" branch of SBI offers educational loans to qualified Chandigarh University students as well. Additionally, you'll find ATMs from SBI, HDFC, and PNB situated at various points throughout the campus to accommodate the daily financial needs.
Medical Facilities
After the pandemic, the university is especially careful and conducts routine temperature testing. In addition to the three ambulances on campus, there is a separate OPD area for boys and girls and a registered medical doctor on campus during working hours to handle any medical emergency. Students can also access medical supervisors in their dorms around the clock. Additionally, when you arrive on campus, you are allowed to bring the basic Prescribed Medical Kit.
Industrial Visits & Trips
Students are made more aware of the everyday challenges that businesses encounter in the real world through industrial trips. It is regarded as a calculated method of imparting knowledge by exposing individuals to ongoing employment procedures. In an effort to transcend academics, visiting a company provides a real-world viewpoint in contrast to theoretical understanding.
Excursion trips give students the chance to engage in curriculum-related activities outside of their regular college schedule, which improves their educational experience. Excursions are an important component of the curriculum of Chandigarh University, which gives learning a profound purpose. These carefully thought-out excursions help children grow in confidence and leadership.
Mentoring and Value Inculcation
The private mentoring program at CU operates on the principle of supporting and empowering the mentee. Guide, friend, philosopher, let's take this approach. A class of 20 students is assigned to each faculty member as a class counsellor. For every academic year, there will be an equal number of these 20 pupils. This criterion aids in the development of each student's potential and facilitates the effective expression of individual opinions regarding the system. Students can learn about their academic strengths and limits through a helpful process provided by CU's counselling department. They concentrate on the aspects of academic skill development that support their job goals. It is advised that students attend all of the counselling sessions, which are scheduled once a week, as this will help them make progress towards their objective.
The counsellor is on campus to offer a supportive attitude, and the topics addressed during counselling are kept private.
Eating Joints & Retail
There are numerous establishments on campus, such as cafés, delis, and restaurants in convenient places. Subway, Domino's, La Pino'z, Nescafé, Rasna Buzz, Corner Café, Food Republic, grab-and-go salads and sandwiches at excellent prices are just a few of the many interesting options and deals available in all of the locations. The on-campus tuck stores carry everything you need for everyday life, including convenience groceries, quick-to-eat snacks, basic stationery, and some specialised stationery and equipment. Additionally, they offer a large selection of Chandigarh University gifts, apparel, and merchandise that can be purchased from the school brand stores.
