In order to make education accessible and affordable for all deserving students, Chandigarh University provides various scholarships on the basis of merit, need, social background, special categories, etc. We have given a detailed overview of the scholarship schemes in the table below.

Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET)

Chandigarh University introduced CUCET, a common admission exam with two advantages, to give bright and curious young minds from all across the nation the chance to study in the most demanding and varied academic environment. This year's scholarship revolution offers you the opportunity to receive Rs. 170 crores. Its goal is to recognise young people's intelligence and potential by giving them scholarships to pursue their preferred futuristic courses.

Scholarships Renewal Criteria and Renewal Process

Once awarded, scholarships will last through the entire program, although they are dependent on fulfilling certain requirements that are evaluated annually. The scholarship will be renewed after the requirements are fulfilled.

Current Renewal Criteria

  • CUCET Scholarship Recipients should submit an application for renewal.
  • Performance: 7.5 CGPA at the end of each year.
  • Students should not indulge in any activity of indiscipline.
  • Every year, students shouldn't receive an E, F, or I in any subject.

Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST

The program was created to give candidates from underprivileged groups the chance to pursue postgraduate-level education in professional fields like engineering and technology, management, pharmacy, etc., at Indian universities, colleges, and institutions while taking into account their social backgrounds. The scheme's goal is to grant 1000 SC/ST candidates financial aid so they can pursue professional postgraduate studies at the qualifying universities.

Process to Apply for the Scheme
  • After the UGC publishes an advertisement once a year in the top daily, Employment News, and on the UGC website, candidates who meet the eligibility requirements must apply online through the National Scholarship Portal.
  • The online application must be validated by the host institution where the candidate is enrolled.
  • Following selection, scholarship recipients will get payment via the DBT method.
  • The NIC will upload the list of recipients to the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
  • The scholarship will be paid for the whole postgraduate course, and PFMS will create the grantees' payment files.

  • Scholarship for Students Who Have Participated in the National Children's Science Congress: 
    • The top ten NCSC winners each year will receive a 100% fee waiver if they enrol in any Chandigarh University undergraduate program.
    • All NCSC participants will receive a 10% fee waiver when they enrol in any Chandigarh University undergraduate program.
  • NATA RANK Scholarships: The university has launched a new scholarship program called the "Architecture Scholarship on the basis of NATA/JEE (Main) Score" for students accepted during the Academic Session 2025–2026 in an effort to encourage deserving students to enrol in the B.Arch. program. The University will offer the following scholarships on academic fees under this scheme, subject to the following guidelines:

Concession under the Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (FEES) for Wards/Spouse of Defence Personnel

Chandigarh University established a Reservation cum Fee Waiver Scheme for Defence Personnel, Wards, and their spouses as a way to show gratitude and salute our Defence Forces, who are always there to protect our borders and our lives. AFEWS is an exclusive scheme that allows spouses and wards of Indian defence personnel of various categories to reserve seats in all courses. Wards and spouses of various types of defence personnel admitted under the aforementioned program will also be eligible for freeship as specified in the semester fee. Wards, wives, and immediate dependents of Defence Martyrs would be given preference for 5% of seats in all Chandigarh University courses.

  • War widows and wards of war casualties.
  • War-injured and released defence personnel, spouses, and their wards.
  • War disabled defence personnel, getting superannuated, spouses, and their wards.
  • Wards of serving defence personnel.
  • Wards of retired defence personnel.
Concession Details
  • For war widows and wards of war casualties, war wounded and released military members, spouses and their wards, war-disabled military personnel, and those who are getting superannuated, there is a concession equal to 15% of the annual cost.
  • Concession for spouses and wards of active and retired military personnel equal to 10% of the annual fee.
  • Concession for paramilitary forces personnel's spouses or wards equal to 10% of the annual fee.

Sports Scholarship Policy

The Chandigarh University has a sports policy, which is designed to promote the educational, physical, and psychological health of the athletes. It also equips them with the appropriate skills, abilities, as well as mental and physical competencies to fully participate in and contribute to the development of society. With this policy, the university hopes that its student-athletes will win awards on a variety of national and international platforms. Early Bird Scholarship for PG Students

Early bird scholarship to the Master of Engineering programs is granted under the following terms:

  • Students who have earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Chandigarh University will receive a 15 (fifteen) percent scholarship, provided they pay the entire semester fee at the time of admission.
  • Students who have earned bachelor's degrees in engineering or technology from other accredited universities or institutions will receive ten percent of the scholarship.

Kalpana Chawla Scholarship for Girls (Belonging to the Economically Weaker Section of Chandigarh)

Only ten female students from Chandigarh's economically weaker section who have finished their 10+2 and are willing to enrol in any subject at Chandigarh University will be awarded the Kalpana Chawla Scholarship, on a first-come, first-served basis. Every year, students will be eligible for a 10% scholarship on the entire cost. The annual sum of scholarships awarded under this program would be Rs. 10 Lakh.

  • Criteria for Income: - Family Income below Rs. 3 Lac annually
  • There are ten scholarships available annually (first-come, first-served).
  • 10% of the academic fee for each chosen course is the quantum of the scholarship. For the duration of the course, it is valid.

Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Scholarship for the wards of Kargil War Heroes

The Kargil War Heroes wards will receive the Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Scholarship. The following conditions will apply:

  • Twenty seats at Chandigarh University shall be reserved for Kargil Martyrs for a period of three years.
  • 15% Academic Fee Waiver for Kargil Martyrs' Wards.
  • 10% of academic fees are waived for defence personnel wounded in Kargil.
  • For the entire duration of the course, the fee waiver would be in effect.
  • Under this plan, a total of Rs. 25 lakh would be awarded in scholarships.

Scholarship for Meritorious Students of Ladakh

For their further education at Chandigarh University in Gharuan, Ladakh students who have completed Senior-Secondary and received more than 80% of the marks from any CBSE-affiliated Board or College are eligible for this scholarship. Under this scheme, scholarships totalling Rs. 1.5 crore would be provided.

  • Students who received scores between 80 and 85% would be eligible for a 25% scholarship when they are admitted to Chandigarh University to pursue further education.
  • Students who received scores between 85.1 and 90 percent would be eligible for a scholarship of 35 percent when they are admitted to Chandigarh University to pursue further education.
  • Students who receive a score of 90% or more will be eligible for a 50% grant when they are admitted to Chandigarh University to pursue higher education.
  • There would be a maximum of 25 seats annually.

Scholarship for Cultural Achievers

The scholarship policy for cultural activities is intended for aspiring artists and high achievers who have won awards in the fields of music, dance, theatre, literature, and fine arts at national, international, or state contests. The scholarship's objectives are to encourage students to promote art and culture on various levels and to maximise their involvement in cultural events. It will be awarded according to the following categories.

Terms and Conditions
  • Dance, music, theatre, fine arts, and literature are the categories for which the mentioned scholarships are awarded.
  • After being approved by the honourable management, these rules will take effect immediately.
  • The scholarship will be available starting in the current course next year for students who were not accepted under the Cultural Scholarship Policy at the time of admission but who have represented the university in competitions at the State, North, or National levels and have achieved first, second, or third place.
  • A student's participation and accomplishments from the previous year will be taken into consideration when the scholarship is reviewed after a year. The university retains the right to revoke the scholarship at any time if the student exhibits poor performance or participation, engages in unlawful activity, or takes any other action that violates university regulations.
