JEE Main 2020 Latest News and Updates

NTA changed JEE Main registration date and notification release by one day. Now, the JEE Main registration will starts from September 03, however,  notice is expected to be out by midnight, today. The notification and the form will be published at the official website of NTA. While the online registration form for the JEE Main were scheduled to be released today, the NTA has postponed the registration date to September 3. The exam date for the January exam is 06 to 11 Jan and for April exam it is 03 to 09 Apr.

The NTA has not said any reason for the delay. There, however, is no change in the other schedule. The last date as of now is September 30 – which can be extended further to ensure students get as many days to apply for the examination. The date of conducting the exam also remains Jan 6 to 11, 2019. JEE Main is conducted for engineering as well as architecture students. The engineering students have to appear for paper 1 which consists of Maths, Physics and Chemistry. For architecture students who will appear in paper 2, an extra aptitude test or drawing paper will also be conducted. 

Since there is more time for students, they can in the meanwhile, get their papers ready. Here is a list of documents required to apply for the JEE Main 2020. Students can apply at the official website. From last year onwards, the examination has been scheduled to be held twice a year. Apart from the January examination, students will also have the option to appear in the April examination. Since this year foreign nationals students are also expected to appear for the JEE Main, the number of students is likely to go higher than 10 lakh. Last year, a total of 9,29,198 students recorded for the JEE Main in January and 9,35,741 students appeared for the entrance exam in April session, as per the official data provided by the NTA.

National Testing Agency will conduct the JEE Main 2020 exam January from Jan 06 to 11 and April examination from April 03 to 09. Both the examination will only be held online and the registration for the January Session starts on September 02, 2019. The last date to apply is 30 September 2019. It is expected that the JEE Main information brochure will be out by August end. JEE Main is held at the national level, for B.E / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Plan admission in 25 IIITs, 31 NIT and 28 GFTIs. It is conducted in online mode for class 12th passed/appearing students, who other eligibility criteria as well. It is held twice session in January and April and is a 360 marks examination, in which 90 MCQs questions are to be solved in 3 hours. 

Among new updates to be introduced this year, the JEE Main will be necessary for foreign-nationals seeking admissions to IIITs, NITs, and other government-funded engineering colleges in India. The examination, just like last year, will be held twice. This first session will be held in January and second in April.

The schedule for both sessions like January and April exams was released on July 7 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. According to the latest schedule, the examinations will be held in computer-based mode twice a year, once in January and second in April.
