NEET & JEE 2021 Updates : Here's what Education Minister Said Today

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' in his webinar said that there is no plan to cancel NEET 2021 and his ministry is considering multiple sessions of JEE Main exam.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ today interacted with students in a live session that started at 10 am. In the webinar, Mr. Pokhriyal said that there is no plan to cancel the Medical entrance test -- NEET 2021. Answering another question, the minister said that his ministry is considering to hold multiple sessions of JEE Main.

Using #EducationMinisterGoesLive, students asked regarding CBSE Board Exam 2021, JEE Main 2021, and NEET 2021. While some students have asked for a reduced syllabus of CBSE board exam, others have asked the minister to announce dates.

Medical and Engineering students also asked the Education Minister to announce JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021 syllabus and for a postponement of the entrance exams.

Answering a question, Mr. Pokhriyal said that if students can't go to schools for lab-related works, it will not be possible to conduct practical exams. "We will discuss in this regard," he said.

Responding to another student who asked for a reduction of 10-20 percent syllabus, Mr. Pokhriyal said that CBSE has already reduced the syllabus by 30 percent. If the situation remains the same, that the exams have to be postponed, we will take a decision then.

‘NEET 2021 will not be cancelled’

Responding to a query by a student, the education minister said that NEET 2021 will not be cancelled because it will be a big loss for the students and the nation.

‘Will consider conducting exams online’

JEE 2020 was conducted in online (CBT) mode and NEET 2020 was held in pen-paper mode. We will discuss about conducting the exams online, he said, responding to a student’s query.

Putting an end to speculation regarding the conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2021), Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ today said that there is no plan to cancel the all-India Medical entrance exam.

We Are Discussing If JEE Main 2021 Can Be Conducted More Than Twice

When asked about multiple sessions of the Engineering entrance exam, Mr. Pokhriyal said his ministry is discussing in this regard.

JEE Main 2021: Education Minister Hints At Change In Exam Pattern

Though Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ did not state categorically there were changes in the syllabus of entrance exams but hinted there may be changes in the way questions are framed.

90 questions in JEE Main 2021

Syllabus for JEE Main 2021 to remain same as the previous year and a proposal is under examination where students will be given choice to answer 75 questions (25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) out of 90 questions (30 questions each in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics), Mr. Pokhriyal said in his webinar.

In JEE Main 2020, there were 75 questions which had to be answered by the candidates (25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics).

On JEE Main 2021 Syllabus

Mr. Pokhriyal said that while many boards have reduced syllabus, some state boards have decided not to. "We are discussing on the syllabus of JEE Main 2021 so that students from all boards can participate".
