In the previous academic year, the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology introduced an artificial intelligence engineering program, following in the footsteps of NIT Surathkal. Notably, NIT Surathkal proudly stands as the first NIT to roll out a four-year B.Tech course in Artificial Intelligence, starting in the academic year 2021-22.

While the cut-offs for B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence at NITs have historically been high, there has been a noticeable decline in the past three years. Last year, NIT Surathkal closed admissions at a cut-off of 2,973 for candidates from outside Karnataka.

For those eyeing admission to NITs, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will oversee the counseling process based on JEE Main 2024 scores. Brace yourselves for six rounds of JoSAA counseling in 2024.
