According to the experts, the following questions have chances of correction or getting dropped in the JEE Main session 1 final answer keys:

  1. January 21 (Morning Shift): Chemistry - Thermodynamics
  2. January 22 (Evening Shift): Physics - Wave Optics
  3. January 23 (Morning Shift): Chemistry - Halogen Derivatives
  4. January 23 (Evening Shift): Physics - Newton’s Laws of Motion (NLM) and Error & Measurement

How to Calculate Score Using Final JEE Main 2026 Answer Key and Response Sheet?

To calculate the score using the final answer keys and response sheet, candidates have to match the question id and answer id on the final keys with those in the response sheet. The final answer key will include shift-wise and day-wise question IDs and their correct answer IDs.

  • For correct match, candidates have to add +4 marks.
  • For an incorrect match, candidates have to deduct -1 marks.
  • For unattempted questions, give 0 marks.
  • For questions marked as "dropped" in your shift, add +4 marks.

With the above process, candidates can calculate their most probable raw score in the JEE Main 2026 session 1. NTA will convert this raw score in to percentile for result preparation. The result will not show the raw scores of the candidates, but only the percentile scores.

What happens after the completion of JEE Main 2026 Session 1?

After the results of Session 1 are declared, the NTA will prepare and release scorecards for the candidates, which will include details of their marks and percentile. Based on these scores, candidates will proceed to the next stages of the admission process, including eligibility for JEE Advanced and counseling for participating institutions.

Meanwhile, registration for JEE Main Session 2 has begun, giving candidates another opportunity to improve their scores or take the exam if they were unable to appear for Session 1.
