The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory for students planning to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination, Main (JEE Main) 2026.
The NTA has asked candidates to ensure that all required documents are updated before applying for JEE Main 2026 to avoid any discrepancies, complaints, or rejections later.

Like in previous years, the NTA will conduct JEE Main 2026 in two sessions: Session 1 will be held in January 2026, while the second session will be scheduled for April 2026.
As per reports, the online application form for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will be available on the NTA website in October 2025. Currently, candidates will only be able to apply for the January session. The online application form/registration link will be made available by the NTA on the official JEE Main website, i.e., jeemain.nta.nic.in.
JEE Main 2026: Which Documents Need to Be Updated
According to the official notice, students should ensure the accuracy of the following documents:
- Aadhaar Card: Name, date of birth (as per Class 10 certificate), latest photo, address, and father's name must be correct.
- UDID Card (for disabled candidates): The card must be valid and renewed if necessary.
- Category Certificate: Candidates belonging to the EWS, SC, ST, or OBC-NCL categories must have a valid and updated certificate.
NTA has warned that any errors in the documents may result in application cancellation or other problems later. Therefore, candidates should update their documents promptly.
JEE Main Registration 2026: Steps to Apply
Step 1: Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the JEE Main Session 1 registration link
Step 3: On the next window, enter contact details and other information
Step 4: Fill out the registration form
Step 5: Upload photograph, signature
Step 6: Submit the JEE Main Application Form 2025 and download the confirmation page
After the JEE Main 2026 application window closes, the NTA will open the JEE Main 2026 application correction window. Candidates who wish to make corrections to their application form will be able to do so by logging in to the official website with their application number and password. However, candidates will not be able to change all the details on the application form.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the websites nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in to stay updated with all the latest notices, instructions, and important dates.
JEE Main is the gateway for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other central technical institutes. Furthermore, this exam also qualifies for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to IITs. Therefore, students seeking admission to top engineering colleges should update their documents promptly and keep an eye on all NTA updates.
