The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the exam dates for the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main 2026) session 2.

According to the updated JEE information brochure, the JEE Main session 2 exams will now be held from April 2 to 9, 2026. Earlier, these exams were scheduled from April 1 to 10.

The exam dates for session 1 remain unchanged. The JEE Main session 1 exam will be conducted as planned from January 21 to 30, 2026. Registration for session 1 has already started, and candidates can apply online at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

As per the latest update, the results will be announced on the following dates:

Session 1 Result: February 12, 2026

JEE Main 2026 Registration Details

NTA has released the application form for JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam. Candidates can fill the online application form on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to submit the application is November 27, 2025.

The agency began the registration process on October 31, 2025, after initially announcing it would start in October. Registration for session 2 is expected to begin in the last week of January 2026, likely after the session 1 exams are completed.

CBSE Coordination

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all its schools to share Class 11 registration numbers with NTA. This step will help avoid any clash between JEE Main exam dates and CBSE Class 12 board exams 2026.

Increased Exam Cities

In another major change, NTA has increased the number of exam cities from 284 to 323. This will give candidates more options when choosing their exam centers.

Aadhaar Update Advisory

NTA's first advisory for JEE Main 2026 was published on September 29, 2025. The agency urged aspirants to update their Aadhaar card details for smoother identity authentication and to reduce malpractice during the exam.
