JEE Main 2025 Expected Cut-off
According to Sandeep Mehta, IIT alumnus and co-founder of Vidyamandir Classes, the JEE Main cut-off to qualify to appear for JEE Advanced 2025 will be based on aspects such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates appearing and overall performance. As per recent trends, the general category cutoff is expected to be between 93 and 95 percentile, which roughly equates to 85-90 marks out of 300.
For OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, the cutoff is likely to be slightly lower, around 91 to 93 per cent, with scores ranging around 80-85 marks. For SC candidates, the cut-off percentage is likely to be around 82 to 86 and for ST candidates, around 73 to 80 per cent. This means candidates belonging to these categories may need to secure between 50 to 65 marks.
For PWD candidates, a lower cutoff of around 40 to 45 per cent is likely, the IIT alumnus and co-founder said. Apart from clearing the JEE Main cutoff, students also have to clear eligibility in their Class 12 board exams, which is usually 75 per cent for general and OBC and 65 per cent for SC, ST and PWD categories. These estimates may change slightly and the official cut-off will be announced by the NTA along with the final results of JEE Main, the IIT alumnus said.
According to Mohit Tyagi of Competeze, the JEE Main cut-off will increase for general category candidates to become eligible for JEE Advanced. According to Tyagi, the cut-off for general category candidates will increase from 90.7788642 last year to 92.19 this year. For OBC-NCL, he expects the cut-off to be 77.67.
