JNVST 2025: Last Date for Class 6 Admission Extended Again, Check Exam Pattern

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the last date for Class 6 admission applications for the academic year 2025-26. Students can now apply for the JNVST 2025 entrance exam until October 7, 2024. This is the second extension after the deadline was previously extended from September 16 to September 23.

Application Process and Eligibility

Students aspiring for admission to Class 6 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas can apply online via the official website: navodaya.gov.in. Admission will be based on performance in the JNVST 2025 exam, which offers 653 vacant seats for Class 6.

To be eligible:

• Applicants must be born between May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2016.
• They must be currently studying in Class 5 for the 2024-25 session at a recognized school.
• Applicants must belong to the district where they are seeking admission.

Reservation and Seat Allocation

• 75% of the seats will be reserved for students from rural areas.
• Reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang students will follow government rules.
• Students can only apply once; no second-time applications are allowed.

Exam Dates and Phases

The JNVST 2025 will be conducted in two phases:

• Phase 1: April 12, 2025, for select districts in Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Ladakh.
• Phase 2: January 18, 2025, for other states and Union Territories like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and more.

Exam Pattern

• The exam will be of 2 hours, held from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, consisting of 80 objective-type questions totaling 100 marks.
• Sections include:
  1. Mental Ability Test – 40 questions for 50 marks (60 minutes)
  2. Arithmetic Test – 20 questions for 25 marks (30 minutes)
  3. Language Test – 20 questions for 25 marks (30 minutes)

Each correct answer earns 1.25 marks, and there is no negative marking. Results will be announced in March 2025.
