Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is now accepting online applications for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST 2024). This test is for Class 6 admissions at over 650 JNVs across India. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website navodaya.gov.in. The last date to apply is September 16, 2024.

Here are 10 Important Points to Know Before You Apply:

Documents Required: Candidates need to upload a photo, parent’s and candidate’s signatures, Aadhar details or residence certificate, and a certificate verified by the headmaster with the candidate’s details in the required format.

Document Verification: The headmaster of the school where the candidate studied till Class 5 will verify the provided information. The certificate should be uploaded in JPG format, with a size between 10-100 kb.

District-Based Application: Candidates must apply to a JNV in the same district where they’re currently studying in Class 5.

Age Limit: The candidate’s date of birth should be between May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015 (both dates included).

Exam Dates: The entrance exam will be held in two phases. Phase 1 is on January 18, 2025, and Phase 2 is on April 12, 2025.

Phase 1 Locations: The first phase exam will be held in Jammu & Kashmir (except Jammu-I, Jammu-II & Samba), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and some districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Ladakh.

Phase 2 Locations: The second phase will take place in major states like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Union Territories like Delhi, Chandigarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and more.

Exam Duration: The test will last two hours, starting at 11:30 am and ending at 1:30 pm.

Result Announcement: The results for Phase 2 (Summer-bound JNVs) are expected in March 2025. Results for Phase 1 (Winter-bound JNVs) will be announced in May 2025.
