NEET 2025 Physics Exam Analysis 

Physics was considered the toughest section in NEET 2025. The questions required strong conceptual grip and analytical thinking. Many questions were formula-based but multi-step, which took more time. Students had to combine concepts from several chapters to get the correct answer. Due to this, the overall difficulty level of the paper increased significantly.

Vijay said that according to many students, time management became a big challenge due to the complex nature of physics problems. Especially in topics like modern physics, electrodynamics and thermodynamics, the questions were so complex that time seemed limited and students faced difficulties.

Nabin Karki, National Academic Director (Medical), Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), said that the physics section was quite challenging. This time more emphasis was given to class 11 topics and the questions required heavy calculations. Karki said that there were no questions like statement-based, assertion-reason or column matching and most of the questions were asked from mechanics.

Among the topics covered,

one question came from practical skills this year. 15 questions were asked from Mechanics, 4 from Thermal Physics, 3 from SHM and Waves, 13 from Electrodynamics, 4 from Optics and 6 from Modern Physics and Electronics. This division shows that this time more emphasis was given on Mechanics and Electrodynamics.

NEET 2025 Chemistry Exam Analysis 

The chemistry section was relatively long this year. According to experts, it required accuracy and careful reading, as even a small mistake could lead to an error. The theoretical questions were relatively simple, but the application-based questions increased the difficulty level. These questions required deep analysis and application of correct concepts, making this section challenging for students.

Nabin Karki considered this section of chemistry to be moderate to difficult, focusing mainly on organic and physical chemistry. He said that most of the questions were from the class 12 syllabus and candidates faced questions that required conceptual clarity and analytical understanding. Deep conceptual understanding and knowledge of correct principles were needed to solve these questions.

This section also had a fair number of statement-based and matrix-matching questions, as well as an assertion-reason-based question. Interestingly, many questions involved the application of multiple concepts simultaneously, making them take more time than last year. This was challenging for the students as they had to spend more time and focus to arrive at the correct answer by piecing together various theories and ideologies.

Topics covered

This year, 16 questions were asked from Physical Chemistry, 12 from Inorganic Chemistry and 17 from Organic Chemistry. 22 questions were asked from Class 11 syllabus and 23 questions were asked from Class 12 syllabus. Nine questions from Physical Chemistry, five from Inorganic Chemistry and eight from Organic Chemistry were asked from Class 11 syllabus. Seven questions from Physical Chemistry, seven from Inorganic Chemistry and nine from Organic Chemistry were asked from Class 12 syllabus.

NEET 2025 Biology Exam Analysis

Although Biology (Botany and Zoology) was not that difficult conceptually, the section was very long. The questions were often detailed and required careful reading. Though the Biology section was in line with the NCERT syllabus, the questions were conceptual, loosely worded and meant to assess understanding rather than mere memorisation, said Nitin Vijay.

While most of the questions in this section were based on predictable patterns, a few were challenging, said Karki. Some questions were also taken from introductory portions, practice sections and brief profiles of scientists presented at the beginning of some chapters, he added.

Experts pointed out that this year the Biology section of NEET 2025 favoured Class 12 topics over Class 11. The mix of questions was factual, conceptual and analytical. Though some questions were challenging, most of the questions were in line with the NCERT syllabus, based on understanding rather than mere memorisation.

The most common format in the NEET 2025 exam was multiple-statement and column matching questions, followed by assertion-reason type questions. Some questions focused on genetics and biotechnology, including diagrams from NCERT textbooks, which required in-depth understanding by students.

Ujjwal Singh, Founder CEO, Infinity Learn, said that some questions in NEET 2025, such as the water vascular system, literally required textbook memorization, while others, such as the fig-wasp relationship, were ambiguous and open to interpretation. Physics and Chemistry had complex calculations and contextual reasoning questions, which increased the time pressure on examinees.

The complexity of physics questions in the NEET UG 2025 exam created difficulty for students, which could impact the overall cut-off, especially for top government medical colleges. However, relatively easier questions in chemistry and biology could provide some balance, which will benefit well-prepared students. Experts also mentioned that the length and difficulty of the paper required more time and effort, which may reduce the cut-off. Time management has become important in this tough exam.
