An important update has come out for the students participating in NEET UG Counselling 2025.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will close the seat resignation deadline for the first round of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 counselling today, August 25.

This means that candidates who were allotted MBBS or BDS seats in the first round but want to participate in further rounds will have to resign from their seat today itself.

Why is it Necessary to Complete the Seat Resignation Process?

Students who have got a seat in Round 1 but are looking for upgradation or other options will have to complete the process online by visiting the MCC portal.

MCC had earlier extended the last date for seat resignation to August 25 on the request of the students. The good news is that the security amount of the candidates will not be forfeited if they resign within the deadline.

MCC NEET UG Counselling 2025 – Round 1 Seat Resignation Process

Candidates need to login to the official website mcc.nic.in
Seat confirmation letter must be obtained from the college allotted in Round 1.
It is mandatory to fill and submit the resignation form online from the MCC portal.
Resignation through offline mode will not be accepted.
The security deposit will be refunded to the same bank account from which the fee was deposited.

Important Guidelines from MCC

Candidates are advised to read the guidelines issued by MCC carefully before completing the resignation process.
Keep a copy of the resignation and a copy of the allotment letter safe for future use.
Resignation will not be accepted after the stipulated time limit, in such a case students will not be able to participate in the next round.

NEET UG Counselling 2025 – When will Round 2 Registration take Place?

The second round of NEET UG 2025 Counselling will begin from 29 August 2025. Only those candidates will be able to participate in this round who did not get a seat in Round 1, or who have opted to participate in the further process by resigning from the seat on time.
