Students and teachers of coaching institutes have alleged that the NTA has made mistakes in its final answer key, which was uploaded and later removed.
Udaivir Singh, who appeared for the first shift on April 3 in Jalandhar, said, "The NTA has removed one question from its final answer key for my shift. The correct answer to a question on magnetic field in physics was a value of 1, and it was correct in the provisional answer key, but the NTA changed the answer to a value of 5 in the final answer key.
The correct answer to another question about ammeter in physics was a value of 5, but it was wrongly given as a value of 125 in the provisional answer key, and the NTA did not correct it in the final answer key. This will cost us a mark deduction and may affect our results."

Purnima Kaul, founder of online coaching platform JEE1, said, "The NTA has considered two options correct for two questions in two different shifts on different dates in its final answer key and removed one question for home centres."
The NTA did not respond to HT's queries seeking a response to the allegations.
The NTA is yet to declare the results for session 2 of JEE Main Paper 1. The top 2,50,000 candidates who qualify in JEE Main will be eligible for JEE (Advanced), scheduled to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur on May 18 for admission to engineering courses in 23 IITs.
