National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are autonomous technical institutes run by the Government of India. There are a total of 31 NITs in India offering undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctoral programmes in engineering, science, management and architecture.

Admission to BTech in these institutes is done through JEE Main rank and JoSAA counselling, while admission to MTech is done through GATE score and CCMT counselling.
