- Mode of GATE 2021 Examination was Online/ CBT(Computer Based Test).
- A total number of questions were 65.
- The total allotted marks were 100.
- The time given was 3 Hours.
- There were -Ve (Negative) markings for the MCQs Questions. 1/3 rd for 1 mark questions & 2/3rd for 2 mark questions.
- MSQ & NAT had no negative markings.

GATE CSE 2021 Exam - Highlights
As per the students' statements who had appeared in GATE 2021 Computer Science Exam, the questions paper difficulty level was moderate. Previously GATE CS 2021 Exam was conducted on 13 February 2021. The Exam were held in two shifts
- 12 and 7 MSQ questions were asked in the 1st and 2nd shifts respectively.
- In the NAT 19 questions were asked to the candidates who appeared for 2nd shifts.
- Around 50% questions were directly asked from the concepts.
- Difficulty level was Moderate to easy
