The CAT 2024, conducted by IIM Calcutta, is scheduled for November 24, 2024. The exam will take place across three shifts throughout the day. The third and final slot concluded at 6:30 PM.

CAT 2024 Exam Pattern

The CAT 2024 sample paper introduced two additional questions compared to previous patterns. The paper consisted of 68 questions, to be completed in 120 minutes. Each section had a fixed time limit of 40 minutes, and candidates couldn’t submit a section early.

The section order was predetermined, and the division of questions remained the same.

CAT 2024 Overall Difficulty Level

The difficulty level of Slot 3 was similar to Slot 1 and Slot 2. However, the section-wise difficulty levels were as follows:

VARC (Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension): Moderate
DILR (Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning): Moderate to Difficult
QA (Quantitative Ability): Easy

CAT 2024 Slot 3 Exam Highlights

Slot 3's paper pattern closely resembled Slot 1 and Slot 2 but was easier than CAT 2023.
VARC had no para jumbles, and Slot 3 VARC was more challenging compared to Slot 1 and Slot 2.
DILR had 2-3 doable sets, similar to Slot 2, but trickier than Slot 1.
QA was the easiest section, surprising many candidates.

The Slot 2 exam maintained a similar pattern to Slot 1, with both slots being easier compared to CAT 2023.

CAT 2024 Slot 1 exam pattern was easy compared to that of CAT 2023

As expected, changes have been observed in the CAT paper pattern specifically in the DILR & VARC section.
