CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation & Re-verification: New Portal, How to Apply, Aadhaar Rules Explained
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the application process for re-verification and re-evaluation for Class 12 students. The board shared the update on social media platform X at 4:42 AM, confirming that the process is now running smoothly.
CBSE officially announced that the application portal is live, and students can apply to verify and re-evaluate their marks by following the set procedure. The board has urged all students to apply only through the official website and avoid any unauthorised links or sites. It has also advised students to complete the process early instead of waiting for the last date.

Aadhaar Card Now Required
According to the information released by CBSE, Aadhaar verification has been added this time to make the application process more secure. However, the board has also made arrangements for students who don't have their own Aadhaar card. Such students can use the Aadhaar number of their parents, guardian, or a close relative. The board says this will help confirm students' identity and make the process safer and more transparent.

What to Do If You Don't Have Aadhaar
According to CBSE, if a student uses someone else's Aadhaar number, then the name, date of birth, and gender entered during the application must match the person whose Aadhaar number is being used.
After results are declared, a large number of students ask for a recheck of their marks. For these students, CBSE offers three main services: verification of marks, getting a scanned copy of the answer book, and applying for re-evaluation of specific questions.
CBSE Activates Re-evaluation Portal
CBSE activated the portal for verification of marks and re-evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets on Tuesday morning, amid the row over technical glitches. Along with the launch, the board also shared a detailed video tutorial that explains the step-by-step process students must follow to apply online. The official portal to apply for re-evaluation is postresult.cbseit.in/pvr/.
In a post on X, CBSE told students that the facility to apply for "verification of issues observed in answer books and re-evaluation of questions" is now available through the post-result services portal. The board asked candidates to watch the instructional video carefully before they apply. For more details on CBSE results, recheck, and other updates, students can check the IE Education page.

Who Can Apply
According to the video, applicants are entitled to verification or re-evaluation services only if they have first received the photocopies of their answer books after the evaluations have been made. Before making a request, candidates must verify their answers using the marking scheme.
How to Apply: Step-by-Step
These are the steps that Class 12th students must follow in order to apply for the re-verification or re-evaluation process:
- Go to the CBSE post-results services portal which is available at postresult.cbseit.in/pvr/
- Log-in by entering your examination login details including roll number etc.
- Perform the Aadhaar Verification of yourself or through any other close relative including your parents or guardians since you may not be having your own Aadhaar number
- Enter the name of the concerned subject that you would like to get re-evaluated or re-verified
- Answer the questions that you would like to challenge by going through the question paper and comparing it with the marking scheme of CBSE
- Pay the fees of Rs. 500 per answer script and Rs. 100 per question as applicable.
CBSE Re-Evaluation Fees
A brief overview of the fees is provided below:
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Verification of Marks | Rs 500 per answer book |
| Re-evaluation | Rs 100 per question |
The CBSE has made it clear that only those questions can be re-evaluated, which are highlighted by the candidate after verifying the scanned copy of the answer book.
Reasons Behind the Delay in Portal Launch
The portal launch was delayed since there were some pending issues concerning the post-results examination facility offered by CBSE. Initially, the CBSE had put off the launch of the website due to some security measures needed for a better performance from the part of the candidates.
This year's re-evaluation process came into more focus because of students' complaints about CBSE's On Screen Marking system.
