CBSE Extends Re-evaluation Portal Session Time After Timeout Glitches - Check Full Details
As a result of the large volume of students' applications on day one, and taking into account the comments provided by students, the portal of CBSE's new Post-Result Activities portal has been updated. The extended period for the filling of application forms will provide comfort for those applicants looking to have their results verified.
More than 14,000 users tried using the website on the first day. Within several hours, more than 28,000 users were able to submit forms successfully. However, the excessive load, together with the DDoS attack which resulted in 1.5 million attempts to overload the system in two minutes, resulted in several errors, including timeout messages.
Extending the session time has allowed CBSE to remove the problems that applicants experienced when trying to submit their forms and check the details in their profile. The infrastructure update will help to make the process of rechecking and re-evaluating results convenient and easy for applicants of Class 10 and 12.

Re-Evaluation Portal Cyberattacks and Solutions
The very first day of using the re-evaluation portal resulted in an unprecedented influx of users — around 14,000 simultaneous visitors and more than 28,000 successful registration attempts.
However, this day also featured some cyberattacks, in particular DDoS attacks. In less than two minutes, the portal got overloaded with almost 1.5 million requests.
- Users received numerous error messages including "Login Request Expired" and "Verification Failed."
- A number of users experienced frozen screens and had to leave the website.
- The mobile versions of the website suffered as well with distorted layout and overlapping text.
- In order to prevent repeated submissions due to timeouts, CBSE increased the duration of sessions.
Another important step was improving the security of the website by creating a special task force that included representatives from government institutions and IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur.
Discrepancies that Can Be Reported by Students
Now that the portal is working properly, students who managed to receive scanned digital copies of their answer sheets can report discrepancies in the process of OSM for the following cases:
- Sheets with missing pages (entirely empty sheets, absence of page numbers, sheets without supplementary materials).
- Scans that cannot be viewed clearly and make the handwriting illegible.
- Errors in evaluations when students' answers were not examined at all or when scripts were evaluated based on incorrect question paper series.
