CBSE Payment Glitches: Pradhan Directs PSU Banks to Strengthen Gateway, Fix System Failures
The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan discussed with the senior officials from four government-owned banks in relation to upgrading the CBSE payment gateway on Tuesday.
As per the release by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the officials from State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank attended the discussion.
This move comes amidst growing concerns regarding the payment and technical issues faced by students following the announcement of CBSE results and during the re-evaluation processes.
The digital payment mechanism had to be strong and reliable, Pradhan said. Moreover, he highlighted that it should be very convenient for the students to use the digital mechanism for paying fees after their examinations like re-assessment or getting the photocopy of answer scripts.
They were also asked to incorporate advanced security measures, real-time monitoring, and the speedy redressal of grievances.
On May 24, Pradhan had met with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman regarding this very issue. He had also directed experts from IIT-Madras and IIT-Kanpur to investigate the technical glitches.
The IIT-Madras Director, V. Kamakoti, said in an interview on Tuesday that a four-member panel has started reviewing the CBSE website by looking into complaints about money transfer issues and uploading of answer sheets. He further added that the portal has remained stable for "over 72 hours."
