CBSE Special Needs Awareness: School Staff to Attend 30-Minute Session on October 7
CBSE has called upon all CBSE affiliated schools to arrange a 30-minute sensitization and orientation programme on Inclusive Education for CwSN on October 7, 2026.
The sensitization and orientation programme has been designed as per the instructions of the Department of School Education and Literacy of the Ministry of Education. It will assist the staff members in gaining sensitization and empathy towards the Students with Special Needs.
It is designed to be attended by the teaching as well as non-teaching staff members of the schools. This will include teachers, ayahs, drivers, clerical staff, receptionists, deans, wardens, school heads, and other non-teaching support staff.
As stated by CBSE, the module will help the staff members become aware of the needs of CwSN and will encourage the schools to adopt appropriate and respectful practices.
CBSE Special Needs Session: How Can Schools Access the Module?
Maximum participation of all the people needs to be ensured while organizing the 30-minute program. The program must be organized in such a manner that allows participation of the staff without disrupting any important activities of the school.
The module of Inclusive Education for CwSN will be available on the PRASHAST portal. It is accessible through the option of Video Tutorial under Headmaster login on the portal.
CBSE PRASHAST Screening Initiative: Key Details
The staff sensitization programme is a part of PRASHAST screening programme that is being carried out in the ongoing academic session.
This programme is meant for the identification of students who have the possibility of having some kind of disability and intervention for the same. CBSE has emphasized on the need for sensitizing the staff regarding the needs and requirements of CwSN.

CBSE Directs Schools to Ensure Staff Participation
CBSE has directed principals and heads of schools affiliated to CBSE to maximize their participation in the sensitization module. CBSE would also keep a record of the number of schools who watch the sensitization module on a national scale.
The program is meant to create an inclusive, accessible and supportive environment for Children with Special Needs.
