CLAT 2027 Latest Update: Syllabus and Exam Pattern Unchanged, Confirms CNLU

The notification for the CLAT 2027 is expected to be out soon, probably on July 22, 2026. The entrance test will be held for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law courses in the National Law Universities in India which are participating in the process.

According to the notice published on July 21, 2026, there will be no change in the syllabus and examination pattern of the CLAT 2027. Also, there will be no change in the CLAT paper section pattern.

The pattern will be similar to the one followed last year in the CLAT UG and PG entrance examinations.

This decision has been taken by the Governing Body of CNLU after its annual meeting on July 18, 2026.

Along with the notice, the CLAT Expert Committee Report has been made available to the public by the CNLU. This report contains suggestions about the quality and format of questions asked in the test.

The Convenor of CLAT 2027 and all the paper setters have been requested to consider these suggestions as much as possible.

“Resolved that there will be no changes in the syllabus and pattern/sections of the UG and PG papers in CLAT 2027. The Convenor CLAT 2027 and all paper setters will consider and adopt the suggestions of the CLAT Expert Committee Report regarding question format and quality in a feasible manner,” said the official notice.

The CLAT Expert Committee Report is available on the official website of CLAT. The CNLU has called for feedback and suggestions from students and general public on the report.

The interested candidates can provide their feedback till August 31, 2026.

In recent times, Bar Council of India and Central Government have taken up discussion on the 10 years action plan for promoting legal education in Hindi and other Indian languages.

This discussion took place during the Conference arranged by the Department of Legal Affairs which is under the Ministry of Law & Justice.
