CLAT 2027 Reservation Update: WBNUJS Changes Reservation Category, Check Revised Details

According to the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs), there will be changes in the reservation category of candidates for WBNUJS, Kolkata admission through CLAT 2027.

This reservation change will affect not only the UG programme but also the PG program of WBNUJS. According to the recent notice issued by the university, there will no longer be any OBC-A or OBC-B category of West Bengal in the seat matrix of WBNUJS.

Instead of these categories, OBC will now be one reservation category in West Bengal domicile. All those candidates who opted for OBC-A or OBC-B categories in their domicile category of West Bengal need to make changes in their reservation category after seeing the new seat matrix.

Candidates eligible for this purpose can update their category information in the CLAT application portal till October 31, 2026.

The revised reservation structure will be applicable for both CLAT UG 2027 and CLAT PG 2027 admissions.

Candidates who selected OBC-A or OBC-B under West Bengal domicile while filling the CLAT 2027 application should check whether they fall under the newly introduced OBC category.

If eligible, candidates must update their reservation category before the deadline to ensure their application reflects the correct category details during the admission process.

How to Update WBNUJS Reservation Category in CLAT Application 2027?

The following guidelines will help candidates change their reservations data:

• Login to the CLAT 2027 official application form portal by using your registered login id and password.
• Click on "Edit Application Form".
• Go to the "Reservations" tab.
• Then click on the WBNUJS, Kolkata tab.
• Check if you are an applicant domiciled in West Bengal.
• Choose your suitable reservation category from the provided list.
• Click on the save/submit button after filling all the details.

The Consortium has recommended that the candidates must take help from the revised WBNUJS Kolkata brochure to know more about reservation criteria.

The revised brochure is also available on the Consortium website within the section of “Participating Universities”.
