The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has introduced new two-paper combinations for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. Candidates who previously selected only one paper can now add a second paper from the updated combinations. Registered candidates can visit the official IIT Roorkee website to view the new options.

Candidates who’ve already opted for two papers can change their second paper if needed. Those adding a second paper from the existing combinations must pay the regular fee along with a penalty.

The official GATE 2025 website provides detailed codes for the test papers allowed as the second paper based on the candidate's primary choice. These combinations are valid during the regular and extended application periods.

Key Points:

  • Test Language: The exam will be conducted in English.
  • Paper Selection: Candidates must select a primary paper, and the second paper should be chosen from the permitted combinations listed on the website.
  • Restrictions: Only listed combinations are allowed during the registration period.
  • Exam Centres: The second paper's exam centre might differ from the first, but it’ll be in the same city due to scheduling constraints.

Exam Schedule:

IIT Roorkee will conduct GATE 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and 16. Admit cards will be available in January 2025.

About GATE:

GATE is a national-level exam that tests knowledge in undergraduate subjects like engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. The 2025 edition, organised by IIT Roorkee, will be conducted in a computer-based format (CBT). Mock tests are available to help candidates get familiar with the exam interface and format.
