IIT Guwahati will close the registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) today, October 6, 2025.

The application deadline is near, so apply now by visiting the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The last date to apply for GATE 2026 has been fixed today, October 6, 2025. The GATE exam is conducted through computer mode.

The GATE exam is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and the IITs on behalf of the Ministry of Education.

1. GATE 2026 Application Process Begins - August 28, 2025

2. GATE 2026 Application Deadline - October 6, 2025

3. Last date for the extended application window (with late fees) - October 9, 2025

4. Exam Dates - February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026

GATE 2026 Application Fee

Female/SC/ST/PWD candidates will have to pay a fee of ₹1000 for each test paper between August 28, 2025, and September 28, 2025. Female/SC/ST/PWD candidates will have to pay a fee of ₹1500 for each test paper between September 29, 2025, and October 9, 2025.

All other candidates (including foreign nationals) will have to pay a fee of ₹2000 for each test paper between August 28, 2025, and September 28, 2025. Other candidates will have to pay a fee of ₹2500 between September 29, 2025, and October 9, 2025.
