Subsequently, applications can be submitted with a late fee of ₹500 until October 9, 2025. The GATE 2026 exam will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. This exam is crucial for students planning to pursue M.Tech.

Good quality image of the candidate’s photograph conforming to the specifications

Required Information for the GATE Application Form

When applying for GATE 2026, candidates will need to provide several important details. First, they must fill in personal information such as name, date of birth, mobile number, parents' names, and their mobile numbers. It's important to note that the name entered in the application form must exactly match the name on the photo ID proof.

Candidates must show this photo ID in original at the examination center. The GATE 2026 scorecard will also be issued in this name.

Candidates should remember not to use prefixes or titles such as Mr, Shri, Dr, Mrs, Smt, Prof, Capt, Maj, Lt, Col, Er, Ar before their name. A complete address with pin code must be provided for communication. Qualifying degree information, the GATE paper or subject code for which the candidate wishes to appear, must also be entered.

To select an examination center, you must select three cities within the same zone. You must also have your net banking, debit card, credit card, UPI, or wallet information ready for fee payment. Having all this information ready in advance will make the application process easier and faster.
