The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will start the registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 on August 24, 2024. The last date to apply is September 26, 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for GATE 2025 at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

The registration window with a late fee will close on October 7. The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16. The exams will be held in two shifts each day: the forenoon shift from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the afternoon shift from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GATE 2025 will be a computer-based test (CBT) with 30 test papers, all in English. Candidates can choose one or two test papers from the permitted combinations. The GATE scores will be valid for three years from the date of the results announcement.

Candidates who qualify for GATE can apply for master's and direct doctoral programs in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. They may also receive financial assistance for these programs. Additionally, candidates can apply for doctoral programs in related fields at institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government agencies.

IIT Roorkee is the organizing institute for GATE 2025. The exam is jointly conducted by IISc and seven IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. It is held on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

GATE 2025 Registration: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Candidates who are currently in the 3rd year or higher of any undergraduate degree program, or those who have completed a government-approved degree program in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities, are eligible to appear for GATE 2025.

Interested candidates can register for the GATE 2025 exam through the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Detailed registration instructions will be provided on the website.

Photograph of the candidate
Signature of the candidate
Scanned copy of category certificate (SC/ST) in PDF format (if applicable)
Scanned copy of Dyslexia certificate in PDF format (if applicable)
Scanned copy of a valid photo ID: Aadhar-UID (preferred), Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License. The photo ID must include the candidate's name, date of birth, and a unique ID number. The original photo ID must be carried to the exam hall for verification.
