The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will close the registration and application window for GATE 2026 on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Candidates who have not yet submitted their forms must apply before the deadline by visiting the application portal gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

The late fee registration window will close on October 9, 2025.

GATE 2026 will be conducted by IIT Guwahati on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The results will be declared on March 19, 2026.

GATE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for GATE 2026 must have the following degrees from a recognized institution:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts/Humanities or its equivalent.
Students in the third year or above of these degree courses can also apply.
The degree must be recognized by the Ministry of Education/AICTE/UGC/UPSC.
Students with qualifications obtained abroad are also allowed to apply.

Click on the Application Portal on the home page.
Enter your registration details.
Fill out the application form, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee.
After submitting the form, download the confirmation page.
Keep a printout of it for future reference.
