GATE 2027 Registration Starting Soon: Documents Required for Online Application

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is expected to announce the revised schedule for GATE 2027 registration soon. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 application process was earlier scheduled to begin on August 27, but IIT Madras postponed the registration without announcing a new date.

According to the officia l GATE 2027 website, gate2027.iitm.ac.in, the online application window will open “soon”. Candidates planning to appear for the examination are advised to keep their documents ready and regularly check the official portal for registration updates.

This is the second time IIT Madras has postponed the start of the GATE 2027 registration process. Initially, registrations were expected to begin on August 14. The date was later revised to August 27, but the application process was postponed again. The institute hasn't yet announced the reason for the latest delay.

For the GATE 2027 application process, IIT Madras has also introduced an important change for Indian candidates. Applicants will be required to register through DigiLocker. Candidates should therefore create a DigiLocker account or update their existing account before the registration window opens.

Documents Required for GATE 2027 Registration

Candidates preparing to fill out the GATE 2027 application form should keep the following documents ready:

• Recent photograph of the candidate
• Scanned copy of the candidate's signature
• Scanned copy of a valid photo ID
• SC/ST certificate, if applicable
• UDID/PwD certificate, if applicable
• Dyslexia certificate, if applicable
• Relevant annexures or certificates for compensatory time and scribe facility, if applicable

Candidates submitting a photo ID during registration must also carry the original valid ID to the GATE 2027 exam centre on the examination day.

GATE 2027 Application Fees

The GATE 2027 registration fee will depend on the candidate's category.

Candidates should complete the application and fee payment within the regular registration period to avoid any additional late fee, if applicable.

GATE 2027 Exam Dates

According to the schedule currently available, the GATE 2027 exam will be conducted on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027.

Candidates waiting for the GATE 2027 registration link to become active should regularly visit the official website at gate2027.iitm.ac.in. They should also keep their DigiLocker account, personal details, academic information, photograph, signature, and applicable certificates ready to complete the application process without unnecessary delays.
