IIM Lucknow Launches Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology

The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) has launched a new Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology (CoE-BT). This project, supported by the Uttar Pradesh government through its StartInUP Policy, aims to boost the blockchain industry in the state.

The CoE-BT will help create and support 100 blockchain startups over the next five years. The goal is to encourage innovation and support new businesses across Uttar Pradesh.

The center will offer a dedicated platform for blockchain technology, useful resources, and full support for startups. IIM Lucknow’s Enterprise Incubation Centre (EIC) will lead the training and onboarding of these startups. They will get help from over 50 experts, industry connections, venture capital funding, and special training programs.

IIM Lucknow is partnering with Microsoft India to set up three outreach centers in Gorakhpur, Lucknow, and Greater Noida/Meerut. These centers will help promote and grow blockchain innovation.

The Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology will be an important resource for Uttar Pradesh, improving the state’s tech skills and building a strong blockchain community. Prof. Ashish Dubey, Faculty-in-charge at IIML-EIC, said, “Our partnership with Microsoft will help us find new blockchain ideas and develop advanced technologies that will make a big difference in our tech infrastructure.”
