IIM UG Admission Through JEE Scores: Courses Available After Class 12

Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are popularly known for their postgraduate management courses. However, many IIMs are now providing undergraduate courses for students after completing Class 12 in addition to their usual programs.

Courses offered in these programmes include subjects like management, data science, artificial intelligence, digital business and entrepreneurship.

Admissions to most IIM undergraduate courses depend upon entrance tests conducted by individual institutes or more than one selection process. But there are some IIMs that accept JEE Main/JEE Advanced scorecards for admissions, shortlisting, or as an exemption for aptitude test.

So, those appearing for engineering entrance examination can take advantage of their JEE score cards in order to join select IIM undergraduate courses.

IIM UG Programmes Accepting JEE Scores

IIM Mumbai: BS in Digital Science and Business Management

The IIM Mumbai provides a four-year degree programme named Bachelor of Science in Digital Science & Business Management.

Admission in the programme is done through the JEE Main Paper 1. Selection of candidates is done based on the engineering entrance examination.

Selection of the candidates is followed by a Personal Interview for which the candidates have to qualify. The weightage of the personal interview in the final merit list is 30 per cent.

The first batch will have 70 seats.

The programme integrates knowledge of management along with digital technology and data science.

IIM Bangalore: BBA in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship

There is a three-year online Bachelor of Business Administration in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship at IIM Bangalore.

Students have options to either join through JEE Main, CUET or IIM Bangalore’s entrance exam.

The presence of multiple entrance examinations allows the program to reach students having diverse academic profiles.

The program is intended for those interested in entrepreneurship and digitization of business.

IIM Sambalpur: BS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

A Bachelor of Science course in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is offered at IIM Sambalpur.

Shortlisting of candidates is done using JEE Main marks. If a candidate qualifies via the JEE Main pathway, then he/she has to take the Personal Interview.

The final selection of a candidate is done based on his/her entrance exam marks and performance in the personal interview.

Candidate should not exceed 20 years of age. Relaxation is provided in case of reserved candidates as per government regulations.

The course is related to data analysis, artificial intelligence, and technological applications in businesses.

IIM Kozhikode: Bachelor of Management Studies

IIM Kozhikode provides BMS course after the 12th standard.

Direct admission is not given at the institute based on the marks obtained in JEE Main. But the candidates whose percentile is 80% and above in the JEE Main exam can be exempted from appearing for the institute’s aptitude test.

The candidates with a score of 1300 or more in SAT are also eligible for exemption from the aptitude test.

The candidates who get the exemption should clear the other procedures in order to get admission.

Thus, the JEE Main score acts as a waiver for the aptitude test. But it does not ensure admission in BMS program.

IIM Lucknow: BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics

Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics started at IIM Lucknow in the year 2026.

It is now the only program offered by an IIM which admits students based on the marks obtained in JEE Advanced exam.

There are specific educational qualifications required for admission to the program.

For candidates from the SC/ST categories, there is a concession of five percentage points in the qualifying marks.

The maximum age limit for applying is 21 years.

This program integrates artificial intelligence, analytics, business management, and decision-making through technology.

IIM UG Courses Offer New Options After Class 12

Undergraduate courses at IIMs have provided students post-Class 12 new educational opportunities.

These courses are not restricted to conventional management education alone. Now students can enrol in courses related to artificial intelligence, data science, digital business, entrepreneurship, and business analytics.

For those aspiring for an engineering career, JEE Main and JEE Advanced marks are not relevant only for admissions in IITs, NITs, and engineering colleges any more.

Now JEE scores can be useful for admissions in select undergraduate courses at IIMs or securing interview calls or waiver from aptitude tests for some IIMs' undergraduates.

Students must know the eligibility criteria, entrance scores required, age limit, and selection process for each IIM before application.
